Kenworth DAF Adelaide > Cummins ISXe5
Kenworth, market leaders in innovative technology, are excited to introduce the choice of the Cummins ISXe5 engine to selected models in the Kenworth range. The engine utilises selective catalytic reduction (SCR) after treatment technology and will complement existing Cummins ISX EGR offerings.
Production of ISXe5 powered models commenced at Kenworth’s Bayswater plant from mid February. Talk to us now for further information.
CUMMINS ISX e5
The Cummins ISX and Signature series are the biggest selling heavy-duty engines in Australia and, as the heavy-duty truck market leader, Kenworth sells the lion’s share of Cummins engines.
Cummins ISXe5 15 litre engine utilises Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) exhaust after-treatment technology for emission reduction. A liquid urea solution is injected into the truck’s exhaust and passed through a catalytic converter, producing one of the cleanest exhaust outputs of any motor available in Australia today.
The ISXe5 is available with outputs from 450 to 600 hp, generating 1650 to 2050 lb/ft of torque respectively. The engine suits a diverse range of single trailer, B double and roadtrain applications, including interstate line haul, logging, mining and remote area operations.
The engine has strong throttle response and consistent power delivery, and it’s well integrated with the transmission, enabling smooth gear changes.
The ISXe5 is founded on the same proven engine design Cummins uses for its popular EGR models, however, it utilises a common rail fuel system, waste gate turbocharger, a single overhead camshaft, as well as the SCR after-treatment componentry used to reduce emissions.
CUMMINS ISX COOLED EGR
Cummins ISX Cooled EGR is an advanced version of the ISX engine that was first released in Australia in 1998. EGR stands for Exhaust Gas Recirculation, which is the emission control system used in this engine. Cummins cooled EGR continues as the core technology for the market-leading ISX and Signature engines. Cooled EGR is a simple self-contained subsystem with no changes to the proven base 15-litre engine design.
The ISX EGR is available with outputs from 450 to 600 hp, generating 1650 to 2050 lb/ft of torque respectively. The engine suits a diverse range of single trailer, B double and road train applications, including interstate line haul, logging, mining and remote area operations.
Cummins has the most comprehensive service support network in Australia and New Zealand with 38 company-owned branches, more than 150 dealers, and over 200 field service vehicles linked by GPS for fast response.
